This quilt below was very Age of Aquarius, planetary, astronomically magic, don’t you think? And it was huge. We loved all the colors and the piecing and workmanship.
Does the absence make the color more appreciated?
Another noteworthy, picture worthy quilt was a six paneled montage of the Portland, Oregon skyline from across the Willamette River. I wish you could have seen it up close. I would love for you to have seen the quilting in the cloudy sky and the way the fabric choice in just the right places reflected an early morning sunlight as well as the reflections in the “water” all a softer shade of the actual buildings and trees, etc above. It was fantastic.
This next quilt had a manly feel because of its lack of frill, its geometric lines and the color choice. Again, you can’t really tell from the photo – but the scale was a very large quilt.
Have you ever entered a quilt in the Fair?
